Sound proofing and insulating your Datsun

I am using a product called Anti-Dröhn-Platte. you can buy it in rolls or in 50cm by 50cm sheets. Its very similar to the stuff you will have found already stuck to your tunnel when you took the carpet out for whatever reason.
It is lightweight (basis weight = 1.225 kg / m² ), has a decent temperature tolerance (flash point> 230 ° C, heat fixed for 2 h to 120 ° C) and fairly is non flammable (flammability according to DIN 75200 = max. 100 mm / min.).
It is firm when cold but very mouldable when heated. One side has an adhesive already with a peel off wax paper cover (like normal stickers).
What you will need:
Anti-Dröhn-Platte (Cost me ~$11 a sheet. 10 sheets will do the whole firewall, floor and tunnel)
Isopropyl or similar
Craft knife or blade
Heat Gun
Something like a soft plastic card to help push it down into the corners.
Its very simple to use.
1. Clean the surface you are adhering the sound proofing to. If it is a shiny surface such as the inside of your door then wipe the whole surface down with some Isopropyl.
2. Remove adhesive and start applying it by rolling it into place bit by bit.
3. Use the heat gun for a couple seconds across the part you are applying to allow it to mould itself into shape and position.
4. Go over the whole surface area pressing the board into every little groove. Use a rubber or soft roller where possible to really make sure it is firmly adhered. Use a heat gun on small pieces as you work over it to soften it up. This will ensure it moulds perfectly to the undulating surface.
5. Use the craft knife to cut small slits to allow tags etc to get through and fold the board back under the tag.
6. Grab a beer and admire your time consuming handy work!
Here is a couple pics after starting it yesterday. More pics to come tomorrow of it almost finished. I have run out of autodrohn so need to get a couple more sheets.
On my 1600 I have used 10 so far and will require another three sheets. This gives you an idea of the quantity needed to cover the whole floor, fire wall and below the back seats.
