Well i said id ask on here for a mate of mine who out a Z24ET in his ute.
When he brought the Z18ET it came with a dogleg 5 speed. It says close ratio on the side of it in white paint pen and also a pick of the shift pattern.

Its never been used by him as he wanted to keep the standard pattern box.
The Z18ET was absolutely immaculate inside either very very low ks or recent rebuild. He doesn't know any history behind engine or box cos the guy he got it off brought it to fit to a ute to and never used it its just been passed along the chain.

Anyway basically whats it roughly worth or does anyone on here want to make an offer.

If it is really a close ratio box it is worth disassembling it and seeing exactly what is in there. Otherwise it's just another $150 datsun gearbox except it has 'close ratio' written on the side in white pen.
Is it a 71 or a 63? B or C type? What are the ratios? spur or helical? dog or synchro? etc etc

Yea i new that was comeing. I don't think he will be bothered to pull it down and have a look at it. Someone might be lucky and it might be a really neat close raito box or it might just be a normal old dogleg box.
I'll tell him to list it on trademe for $100 and see how he goes.
