hi i have recently bought a datsun 120y and want to replace the tauto trasnmission oil because it gone brownish burnt colour so i was wandering how you would go about empting the torque coverter as i dont want to leave any old fluid in there!
is there any way to blow it out with compresed air from near the filter maybe???

I (I know its bad practice) empty what i can form the bung and with the bung out remove one of the auto trans hoses from the radiator then start it for 5sec. turn off connect everything back up refill start run though the gears
then re drain from the bung only.
Its not good practice but i don't have one of those fancy machines.

they dont have lines going to the radiator so were to i find a line that circulates oil from conveter to the transmission??

If you want to finds parts to amke it a manual, try registering at http://www.datsun1200.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. That site is crawling with aussies, so you should be able to find what you need localy there.
