he is on datsun 1200.com with the username "topgear"
but i dont think they are the correct type LSD for racing application, nick_m could confirm this.

nismo h165 LSD is the one to buy and i think you can still buy them brand new but expect to pay good dosh

have a look on datsun1200.com about putting a ae86 LSD into a h165, its been done plenty of times and are a lot easier to get than the nismo unit.

yeah top gear ones are a torsen lsd (gear lsd) so definitely better than no lsd but being gear driven as soon as one wheel is off the ground it acts like an open diff. Might be alright depending on how you drive. a clutch lsd is definitely a better option.
Ae86 ones are a pretty easy conversion, if you have a hunt round on the net you'l probably find a how to.
I've also heard rumours of mitsi evo 3 LSD's fitting as well but have never actually seen one installed. As far as I went was confirming they have the same amount of splines

Iv put an ae86 diff head in a h165 housing..... its quite do-able.origionally looked at putting ae86 lsd unit in the h165 diff head. it possible but was easier to do the previous. escort diffs are also very similar.

that guy up north would be reg cook. Not sure if he still deals in datsun parts these days, but if he does they'll be the nismo ones worth about $1500-$2000
Ae86 would be cheapest option i'm guessing depnding if you can do the mods to fit it. Otherwise a "topgear" LSD is probably the next best choice

Hi Guys, managed to find a Nissmo LSD unit finally! got it stripped, checked, adjusted and put it in, wow what a difference in the first event took 4 seconds off last years time, worth every penny spent! on the lookout for a good 4.375 crown wheel and pinion as the one in it is shown a bit of wear and tear, still ok to use for the mean time cheers Pete :D
