A12 oil pressure.

Post by crustywhip »

I fitted an oil pressure gauge today that reads in Kg. It sits around 4 and raises to over 5 when my revs are around 4500Rpm
Is this normal as 4bar = 58 Psi and 5bar = 72 Psi.
I asked a few people who all gave me different answers to what the A12 should be. My car uses a little oil but doesnt smoke and seems to run ok except for being slow.

KG/cm2? 4 Kg/cm2 is 56.9 psi and 5 is 71.1 psi that seem a little high check the ball hasn't seized in the oil pressure regulator maybe? the weight of oil you use will affect the pressure also.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Sorry Kg/cm^2. Gauge only says Kg/oil so would say its cm^2.
I use total 20/50 and will check the pressure regulator valve tomorrow.
It actually went above 5 today which was kind of scary as the gauge maxs at 6.
