Im getting pretty sick of driving on earthquakey roads in a lowered car so I thought I'd get something I could use til they get a bit better. for maximum effect you should go to the bottom of the post and scroll up.
I did blow the budget though, I bought the ute for $1200, sold the deck and hydraulics for $700, parts for the warrant cost $95, (cheers brocky), warrant cost $35 and the engineer charged $40 to stamp the joint out. so $670 all up for a road legal ratsun.
Also if there is a flat deck out there somewhere I'd probably be keen.
Can I build a Ratsun for $500?

Your best bet would be to manufacture your own deck.

I've got a 620 with a flatdeck that I want to convert to wellside eventually, how long can you wait for one? (Not keen to spend money on the ute till the 510's legal)
Re: Can I build a Ratsun for $500?
decided the body work was a bit beyond me, the engine is leaking oil, couldn't find a deck, ute wasn't really practical, its agricultural exemption ran out and I didn't really want to pay more rego, so decided to sell.
Hadn't been on trademe long til I got an offer for a swap. exchanged keys with the guy this afternoon after a very brief conversation in a car park in town.
when I got it
How it looked an hour later
totz gunna take the bumpers off and fit a dumpy and cut the springs and fulfil all those dirty toyota fantasies I had when I would just sit on a fence on bealey ave on a friday night yelling "dx!!! awwwwww yayer!!!"
end. I'll toddle off to club-k now.
