As I promised earlier, here are a few pics of my ongoing project Black 83 HR30 GT I've been working on for 12 months or so on and off.
By R30 Guru
I had to remove the original radiator support panel & replace it with 1 out of a shell I wrecked as previous:crazy:owner had butchered it with a disc grinder and cutoff wheel to fit the dodgey intercooler piping.
By R30 Guru
Had to removed the whole front end assembly to replace front crossmember and straighten the lefthand chassis rail & while im at it I will replace the stock crossmember with one from a DR30 which will move the engine and gearbox back 25mm this may not sound like much, but this is stage 1 of the frontend rebuild
stage two will involve replacing the steering box and arms with s14 front hubs reversed so that the steering arms face the front and fitting a powersteering rack from a Nissan Serena so that I will then be able to run a rear sump which will inturn tranfer a bit more weight to the centre of the car.
As far as the interior is conserned still under development throwing a few ideas around.
I was planning on using these seats but have changed my mind now
As far as the engine goes, I haven't done much with that as yet.
Just trying my spin on an of DJZ turning my dizzy into a crank angle sensor so I can run multiple coils with the Link i've got for the car

Am also working an of my own and that is to fit GTi-R throttlebodies to my L31,
Here's a few pic showing what ive done so far!

Did you hear about the car with the wooden inlet manifold?
It wooden go!
But seriously though, Looks pretty tough. I look forward to hearing how much power it makes.

Damn!! I was wondering why it wooden go the pattern still needs a bit more work to be finished like making allowences for NOS at a later date if I feel the need and it works out WAAAY cheaper than weber throttlebodies

Update #1
Well it's about time I filled you all in on some of the progress I've been making on my projects.
I have been having discussions with my Fabrication tutor at Wintec about possibly fabricating the intake manifold (above) out of Carbon Fibre, he said it could be done but it would be way easier to fabricate it out off Aluminium, which I had pretty much figured already, am going to do some more research on this subject and get back to you.
Meanwhile I have had the R30 on the Chassis straightening machine at in the panel shop @ Wintec measuring it up to see if my susspisions were correct about the chassis being bent and sure enough it was it was 17mm too high on the left hand side and 5mm on the right hand side.
so I proceeded to un-stitch both sides of the front to allow me to straighten out the bent chassis rails

The next pics are of the aftermath of what I am assuming to be the previous owners attempt at repairing the rust in the front shock tower,
what It looks like they have done is removed both skins then patched the hole by Mig-welding in what turned out to be 0.5mm "Coloursteel"
the once they had done that they have trimmed the rust off the piece the cut out and Mig-welded the remaining piece of the inside skin back n and bogged over it to disguise the cock up,
god knows how it ever passed a W.O.F inspection the guy must have been blind
