Original Datsuns

Post by toycollector10 »

Here's a couple of pictures of possibly the last unmolested Datsun Sunny 1200 left in New Zealand ??

And here's a video of a lightly overhauled but largely original 240Z taken over Easter 2012. The car is NZ new but I sourced the D hubcaps off eBay this year. I prefer them as they resemble the earlier but now unobtainable (well, they are, but I'm not mortgaging my house for a set) of alloy wheels supplied to the very early JDM 2.0 Liter Fairladys. The D hubcaps came on the 1970 and 1971 cars as standard so they are period correct.

I think I tried to buy your 1200 off you when it was getting a regular service at Cockram Nissan a couple of years ago?
It is an amazingly tidy example same with the 240

Great cars - was good to meet you on the rakaia cruise.

I love that there is still some originals still being used and looked after so well.

There is another original orange 1200 in Christchurch but in storage. Non deluxe version. Was on Akaroa cruise some years ago.

You know Jon, I was thinking of mentioning that very car in this thread. Whilest it could do with a birthday, it's a very original unmolested specimen.
