Good point. The link is about getting a sweet deal with Swann Insurance for classic non daily cars. Brock is working on getting members discounts and a loyalty thing for the club. Should be really good when it is in place. Swann insure V8s and other exotics, but also modified nostalgic Jap stuff, seems anything over 25yrs, at reasonable prices, and with track day cover!!!unlimitedpower wrote:Thats not fair why can't i read that forum?

Re: 140j
hay guys so sorry for the late reply, had computer trouble's. just heard back from the insurance they think its only worth $4000, without even seeing it, which is a joke as i paid $4000 for it and that was a wreck. it has been fully removed of rust, underbody, in side on the floor and the boot has been fully sealed, textured and painted black. 4 brand new tyres, motor has been done, runs great. i have all my receipts, all been done professionally. it has a vtnz wof and has reg, and has been re sprayed.
really need to know the true price of my car. i cant find any of the same car that has been sold in new zealand. any help would be great, cheers. kane.
also how can i add pictures

Re: 140j
Hey mate i own a 140j and 2 X 160js.
My 140j can be found in the build threads section.
Ive had the car blasted inside and out upside down every metal surface that can be reached has been bare metal treated resprayed etc then rust treated. The car is getting a whole pile of NOS parts brand new wheels rebuilt engine certification etc you name it. Once finished i reckon it will be worth about $7000 grand. I think thats all someone will be willing to pay for my car when done. +Hence im not interested in selling it.
And something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I will have outlaid being realistic prob 3X that amount.
$4000 prob isn't unreasonable really. Unfortunately its not a 240Z or a RX3. So its not worth the big bucks.
Just my opinion but we build our cars for fun not to make money. Im not trying to sound like an asshole or anything like that just one opinion for one 140J owner to another, If it was a 160J sss then it would prob be worth a bit more as yours is very tidy.

Re: 140j
I think $4k is a bit light. As is $7k for your car Brent.
Remember, insurance should be about replacement value. You can't just go to a car yard or the auctions and buy a mint 140j! Shit, even try finding one for sale!
Which company was that $4k valuation through?
