How do i find out what year my datsun 1600 is?

It is registered as a 1974 which a quick google says there isnt such a thing..
Is there a way of looking up the vin code or anything to tell me what actual year it is?

Also means cheap rego would come alot sooner.

It'll be registered as the year it was first registered. Not when it was built. It wasn't uncommon for cars to sit around for a while before they were sold.

But if you still want to know, then post up a bunch of pics, including dash, grille, indicators, and boot/rear tail light panel

Dash is just the same as my 70 1600,
Grill etc is all the same to what are the differences between 70 71 72 73?

says 1973 on there aswell its rego'd 1974

A 1970 has white needles in the dash and normally DATSUN is on the tail light panel above the number plate and a black dash to not gray everything else the same as 71 72 73

Well it didnt have DATSUN on the back, but i will go check the dash tomorrow cheers dude

are you able to chuck up a photo off the rego sticker you can blank out rego number ..also look on the inside off engine bay down beside radiater where the horns face is there round holes or some other shape .........

Sure if i can find it, will have a look at body tomorrow as its in bits mid resto
