Stanza 1800 w53

Post by tyrell27032010 »

Hi I'm from Cape Town South Africa. I'm coming to NZ soon and I'm wondering if you guys have Datsun Stanza's or similar model down there. As well as, what cylinder heads come on the l18 motor. In SA we have the peanut chamber w53 head which is practically the proper 219SSS head, just the ports are smaller.

Welcome. You coming to visit or coming to stay?
The Stanza was never a big seller in NZ, the coupe was sold as the 160j sss, but that was about it. We did have the violet, but by the mid '70s the model range was Cherry, 120y B210-310, 180B 610-810, and 260C 230-330 and no real Space for the Stanza in our limited market.
Sorry I can't comment on Heads used on the 610.

I had heard there were closed chamber W53's. Although I think they might be the exception here, rather than the rule. We got our fair share of the A87 closed chamber heads though.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
