When I looked for a sump gasket for my L20B I couldn't find one anywhere. Most cars use liquid gasket now, but if your sump is anything like mine you won't be able to do that because your sump will be all dented up around the bolts holes from them being overtorqued.

What I did was go buy some rubberized cork gasket material from Repco in a big roll, it's not too expensive so you could always get some of that and cut out your own. Works great.

Yeap they definitely do, the aftermarket ones (ACL & Permaseal) are cork. Some LD28s had rubber gaskets. The best ones you can get are the "competition" gaskets which are fibre.

You should easily be able to get one from Repco etc.

Excellent, I'll find a better Repco than the two I have visited in that case...

JH031 is the part number, looks like it's actually the same part for ACL or Permaseal ones. It might have AA at the end of the part number for the Permaseal one.

i can only stand in the corner and hold my hand up offering to help for so long, im here to help and give nzdatsun members good deals but people always recommend others to go to repco or bnt which in my eyes give crap service and over priced items (well they are in hawkesbay anyway). If you want me to suss one out I can.

That is a fair call but in my defence back in the day when I was at Repco (which is why I always think of them first) he would have been able to walk in off the street and buy an L series sump gasket no trouble. It sounds like he's already been given the run around by two branches.

Maybe the club can come up with a way to advertise the sponsors that's a bit more visible than the one thread that's around? A banner at the top of the page or something?

by all means i want having a crack at anyone i just hate seeing people get ripped off by certain places as i know what i used to pay for stuff before i owned the shop and to see what they are making on gear is criminal, i just want to be able to help and save you guys some coin cause lets face it were all not made of money, well i most certainly am not and i wanna see as many datsuns out cruising even my own haha.

The guys have put up a few threads etc for sponsors but i know what you mean its the bigger places that always spring to mind first but if i see someone wanting something on here and i think i can help i will normally speak up.
