Re: help with 1963 bluebird
Do you know what gearbox your car has?
I have a link somewhere to a workshop manual for that old stuff.
You'd probably need to swap your bellhousing onto a floor shift box. (If your current gearbox is compatable)
Nissan gearbox id code includes a number. ie 56, 60, 63, 71, etc. If your gearbox has a removable bellhousing, you may be able to slot it onto a later model box, with a floor change.

Ok, I think the bell housing is all in one with gearbox, where would the number be on box as I dont recall seeing one when it went back in the car but having said that I wasn't looking out for one.

That is favourable news. I believe Bart was meaning swapping the whole front housing, to the sandwich plate. The number can be about an inch or so high cast in the side of the front housing, sitting proud, as opposed to being depressed in.

Or not.
Does the gearbox have a stamped steel pan on the base, held on by rows of bolts along each of the four sides?
Those ones do not have a removable front casing. And as such a conversion will me much more challenging

Re: help with 1963 bluebird
A quick look through google images, was inconclusive.
Stuff that old might be unique, and incompatible with the later stuff. (possibly even a direct copy of some godforsaken English garbage)
Perhaps take some pics of the box.

That's an orphan.
odds are it's going to be a mission to make that a floor shift.
