Yes brakes were a bit scary after 3 laps, what struts did you use Craig? my 910 strut uses 89.9mm caliper mount which does not fit the r33 2 pots I have in stock also 15" I would like to keep.cosidering an s13 leg, hub /carrier swap too.
Re: HR31 struts or similar
Datsport have a bracket to fit the smaller bolt spacing and the calipers you have.
http://www.datsport.com/brake-front-cal ... K3233.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
We have them on both our cars and they work fine.
Depending on the particular wheel they will sometimes fit 297mm discs under 15" rims but need test fitting.
280mm discs definitely fit with some space to spare.

Re: HR31 struts or similar
I use a 910 strut with the datsport dogbone bracket which does the 89-100 conversion. I can still fit 15" mags over the 4 pots but I do only use the smaller 280mm disc off a z32. Good fluid and braided lines also help allot also.1slo510 wrote:Yes brakes were a bit scary after 3 laps, what struts did you use Craig? my 910 strut uses 89.9mm caliper mount which does not fit the r33 2 pots I have in stock also 15" I would like to keep.cosidering an s13 leg, hub /carrier swap too.

I have tried a few sets of struts and ended up with r31 and a 910 hub there are a number of options but all have some drawbacks
I have a pair of 100mm spaced struts however they add far to much width to the car, the you have to run mega fwd 40p wheels up front to get back inside the guards.
280zx hubs allowed for mega offset 0 _ -5 ish id say however the gtst discs no longer fit behind the hub fouling on the steering arms. So you would have to go to a Wilwood brakes and some macined alloy hats to position them in the right spot. Would look awesome but you also run into clearance issues with the rim and tierods depending on wheel size.
910 hubs is what ive ended up Same as both those characters up the page. The only issue can be caliper clearance on the back of the wheel this can be solved with a small spacer and wheel offset or I machined a 5mm spacer to fit between the disc and back of the hub to give me that much extra clerance to make my wheels fit.

Re: HR31 struts or similar
thanx for the clarification, does anyone have a spare set of 910 hubs that will take the floating rotor?,
Re: HR31 struts or similar
Do you run different hub on your 910 strut? Or are the brake disc and hub one piece aka r31 hubs?1slo510 wrote:thanx for the clarification, does anyone have a spare set of 910 hubs that will take the floating rotor?,
Re: HR31 struts or similar
my discs bolt on from the back of the hub.oddball set up same set as early z31.

Wanna sell them ?slo510 wrote:my discs bolt on from the back of the hub.oddball set up same set as early z31.
Just kidding you have the ones you need. Get a pair of gtst discs and calipers then have the discs centerbore machined out slighty to fit over the back (Its about 5mm I think). Check with your cert man about the extra holes and if he wants them filled etc but you can go forward and drill/bolt the disc to the back.
A kit from datsport and bolt you caliper on and your done.
Brake hose -anyone know a shorter one than the gtst one?
