In particular VG30et

Re: Nissan Oil Pumps
I recall hearing James mention that the auto slushbox VG30ET's had a bigger oil pump. Something worth looking into.

Re: Nissan Oil Pumps
hey Adam
A new Turbo Auto Oil pump is the best you will do without going to huge lengths
turbo auto pumps had wider gears than turbo manual pumps

The Answer to your Question is NEEDS MORE VG30
This ITM pump will be going back to Rockauto.
Comparison photos are to the Atsugi pump out of SS820, original motor.
Inner Gear
Outer Gear
Case of Atsugi has a relief for lubrication under the outer gear
Bypass machining differences. ITM is just milled out. Plungers are both fully seated.
Depth of outer gear relief
Height of inner gear standoff
Depth of pump cavity.
Spring assembly seems same, springs offer similar resistance when compressed.
ITM defects, crossthreaded plug, where bypass relief was machined there is exposed voiding (air pockets) in the case.
It would appear that both pumps housings have the same pump cavity volume, but the ITM has smaller gear surfaces, thereby providing less flow.
Re: Nissan Oil Pumps
Wet sump with an external oil pump.
What pumps do the early VG30DETs motors run? They are more like an ET than a DETT aren't they?

Re: Nissan Oil Pumps
The VG30DETT pump can be made to work, a guy named 260DET in Australlia did it with a lot of machine work to his block. I think he might have used a VG30DETT crank too.
I havn't cooked a rod bearing YET on the skinny drive oil pump. But i make sure not to spin over 6500rpm.
Really i want to hear it to 7000rpm but i can't make myself do it

I am not sure sorry buddy,DJZ wrote:Wet sump with an external oil pump.

Are they different? I just assumed they were the same. But might be something to look into.
He would've had to use the DETT crank as the snouts are different.85_Z31 wrote:The VG30DETT pump can be made to work, a guy named 260DET in Australlia did it with a lot of machine work to his block. I think he might have used a VG30DETT crank too.

I am trying to aim for a cheap reliable 400hp on this build. I am getting sick of spending money on the car. its getting out of control for my income.

On a side note i have found a Atsugi pump. its used but ill pull it down and have a look. Should be good. Hopefully and fingers crossed.
