WTB: Datsun 1200 coupe (b110)

Post by berjjj »

Hi all,

As you've probably noticed, I've been on the hunt for a 1200 coupe.
Will consider any decent examples, doesn't have to be mint, but rust free (ha). Original paint preferred.
Don't mind if mechanicals need a bit of sorting though.
Based in Auckland but will travel for the right car.

Budget is around $5000.

Cheers,
Berj

I think 5k is a decent price for something fairly original?
Chris' old b110 ute for example, is going for around 8, and the work on it is to a very high standard.

Have thought about b310's a whole lot, definitely awesome, but I'm set on a b110 if the car is going to be a keeper.

It blows my mind the kind of coin 1200's seem to fetch nowdays.
I remember when you could buy a reg on hold 1200 coupe that needed nil rust work for a wof for $350............

if we knew then, what we know now huh..............
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Absolutely, though I haven't really tracked the prices as sold. What people are asking for has sky rocketed.

Bit too much of a project for me unfortunately.
Would snap it up if I had the space for another build!

serious question....... what are they fetching?????? I have seen quite a few for sale, and many still for sale, asking price is one thing but I havnt seen many sold via trade me etc.

I think 5k for a good TIDY car is about right and maybe another k or two if completely original and un-molested, but 7-8k for a modified and well used one is unrealistic in my opinion
