Grease Catchers - H165 - help

Post by jeremiahnz »

Hi All,

Just getting new bearing etc pressed on my rear axles for disc brake setup, and one of the seals is knackered. All the parts books and manuals show the seals to be a replaceable part that sits within the grease catcher, however mine appears to be a single unit, with a part number that doesn't match any manual (datsun 410/411/roadster/datsun 1200 etc). Mine is a datsun 410

Does anybody know of any readily available (off the shelf) grease catchers that can interchange? Or am I hunting for second hand parts?

Here's some pics of my current ones - note they are all rubberised.

Yeah joys of old school. Do you know if you can buy replacement parts? Or is it just find someone with second hand bits?

Just tried. He's away this week but another guy gave me a price for a part which looks like the newest grease catcher to fit a B210, which should hopefully be interchangeable (although quite different it should be the same bolt pattern and have a seal the same ID as the OD of the axles). Part number is 43242-H5001

Was going to cost around $17 each ex Japan - 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.

I thought that B110's and 210's use a smaller axle tube flange than H165's?
Although being so early yours could be the smaller pattern anyway?

Possibly - I managed to find some 311 roadster grease catchers on ebay, so have ordered those with delivery via YouShop (NZ post service)
