1979 Datsun Sunny B310 from AUS

Post by Sunny310 »

Hi there,
Im Nikki and this is Rosie.

She is my entire world. She was made in April 1979.
She is standard from day dot (except previous owner put a terrible head deck in it which will be back to standard soon)

This car was bought for me in November 2013 a few days prior to my birthday as a gift from my best friend. We had big plans for her until he suddenly passed away that December. I will be going ahead with the plans and building her in his memory .

The plans are:
- Remove rust
- Straighten body
- Respray original colour
- Complete interior overhaul possibly the original colour or black leather
- Engine rebuild to make high comp NA motor (May eventually go a15)
- Stock wheels widened so hub caps can go back on ;)
- New tail lights and boot garnish and new badges all round and new grille with yellow fog lights
- New headlights (thinking projector or halo ones unsure yet)
- Coilovers (If i can find any apparantly R31 coilovers can fit with a bit of modding)
- Sun visor will be getting air brushed. Got to try and make a design up for her.
- New original mirrors.
- New front and rear bars.

Thanks! Miss driving her like crazy. There is just something about the feeling of driving an old car. It's awesome. Id love to know what people have done suspension wise in these b310 dattos. I know I can get an airbag set up for about 6k installed.:s haha

Im more looking to the either standard or slightly lower than standard height. So it is driveable and looks good too.

just get some aftermarket springs (dont know what brands they do in aussie) and some shorter shocks and you will be as happy as, the shocks will make it abit firm and nicer to drive. you dont need to do much to a b310 suspension wise, to rep the benefits etc

haha good man, well yeah i would do all the suspension bushes alswel and basically replace all the steering pieces aswel and see how that is, brakes are a interesting topic as some people just chuck the old stuff away, where other people want big brakes but it all depends on what wheels your going with etc as you cannot fit big brakes under 13 inch rims without alot!!!!!!!!!!!! of work. so i would just get new rotors and get some DECENT pads, change fluid etc do caliper kits and see if you like it!!!

Haha nice! Yeah I plan on keeping the original stockos just widen them.
My whole suspension in the datsun (bushes etc... everything) is brand new from 1979 they are so far gone haha. So full replacement of bushes, coils, shocks, rubbers windscreens will be replaced :) not sure where to get the bushes because I dont know is datsport have them haha ill do some hunting around ^_^ I love how friendly this club is :)
