carby problems?

Post by fletcherj1 »

Hi my car starts fine but after 10 seconds it will die. If I pump the throttle quickly it will keep the car going but as soon as I hold the throttle on it dies. Anyone know what it could be?

Possibly an accelerator pump problem.

had same symtons a lil while back, mine was a air leak in the fuel line, grab a new $10 fuel filter thats see thru (doesnt hurt to replace every 6-12mths with these) if air leak youll see bubbles come thru the filter.

if air leak, grab $15 worth of new rubber fuel lines a couple new clamps (optional) and replace all the rubber line from fuel pump to fuel tank
vr6 idea still siting there, much research in the plumbing before I commit.

Could also be an air leak somewhere else in your carb/manifold.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
