So I finally managed to purchase my first Datsun, although its not quite exactly what I wanted I am still pretty happy with it. I got itfrom a girl in Masterton who brought it of the original owners so its it pretty good shape. My plans are to first get it to warrant standard then tidy it up.
I believe this was a New Zealand new model which is pretty cool. It seems to have been rustproofed from factory as there is tectyl literally everywhere, which has probably saved it from alot of rust.

The Good:
Tectyl is everywhere
New Munroes shocks in the rear
Fender Mirrors
Runs extremely well
It's completely original - still has the am radio
Has a few new nolathane bushes in it

The Bad:
Rust in the boot tire well - will have to drop the tank to weld up
Small bit of rust under the battery tray
Engine bay looks pretty average - needs a repaint
Shifter bushes are non existent - Going to get some from Scott
Windscreen isn't sealed properly
Snapped choke cable
Front carpet is rotten in areas from the windscreen leaking
Paint is looking fairly faded
It's high as a boat

I'm currently struggling to find the colour code for it as I believe the tag has been removed. If anyone knows has a sunny the same colour please let me know!!

I'm currently after:
Front brown carpet section or any carpet the same colour
4 speed gearbox
A12 flywheel

What's wrong with your gearbox? They're pretty cheap to replace the bearings in.

I have a flywheel Nick but as it came with boxes of spares I can't say it is definately A12 as it may be an A15 or A15 C20 one. You are welcome to have a look if you are out in the Hutt at all. I have a choke cable, but it doesn't stay out, which is why I replaced it. I have other spares you may be interested in possibly.

Will do, for some reason they wouldn't load of my phone.

There's nothin wrong with the box apart from the shifter bushes. I just want to drop the engine and gearbox and do a rebuild. I have a spare a15 to put in but no gearbox.

Hey tsC20 I definitely would be keen and having a look. I haven't had a chance to really look at the choke cable yet so I'll let you know if I need it.

Didn't this car have a 5 speed box? It has the SGX grille so should be A15 + 5 speed.....

Your right Flauski. It's still has the original 5 speed and a15. I'm no longer after a flywheel or a 4 speed as something else has popped up.

I'm still after some carpet though and the paint code as my tag has been removed

I don't know if they ever had paint tags?
I got into a row with the ignorant cunt at RJP. I gave him my fuel flap, and said match this. He wanted a paint code. I told him I wanted the colour the car is now, not the colour it was 30 years ago. SHL sunnys might have had a paint code, but I've never seen anything on any of my other dattos.
