Ive been trying to get my head around what driveshaft i need for my car.
Im running a 5 speed box, which im led to believe uses the same front yoke and is just a bolt in job. But im also using a H165 rear axle from a Ute, which has a different flange. I thought i could just swap the flange off the ute shaft, but the UJ is different, so its looking like the only option is to get the ute UJ welded to the coupe shaft, but then i need to work out a length, and its 300 to get all the work done and balanced.
Is there a axle that is direct bolt in for the H165 diff and 5 speed box in a coupe? And would anyone have one?

Re: Driveshaft for my Coupe
Been quoted 300 to shorten the shaft, fit the h165 flange and uni, and fit a new uni joint, and balance.
Looking a lot like this is the only reasonable option at this stage.

The driveshaft in my orange car cost $1000 and the one in the blue car cost $800 to be shortened and balanced here in Palmy I'll never go back to that place again.

Re:
The 300 is a cash job too, at this stage its looking the best value for money with it having new UJ and balanced, just need to work out exactly the length required.woodies72coupe wrote:I will just chip in because I can. I had mine done for 200 cash. Through a friend.

It looks like it needs to be 1145mm from center to center, but until i get the engine/box/diff in im only guessing by how much longer the diff head is on the ute (45mm longer). Stock shaft is 1190mm center to center.
