porting gaskets?
How do I open up the zhost holes on my A15 manifold gasket? My zorst ports have been moddified, and I need to make the holes on the gasket match. I've already had a gasket blow out after only 15mins of running. The gasket has a metal core, which doesn't lend itself to being cut. It takes almost an hour to get the headers off my engine, so I cant be taking it apart too often. What am I gonna do?

Re: porting gaskets?
tin snips? or maybe lay the gasket down on a sharp metal surface and use a small ballpeen hammer to cut the unwanted section out?

Re: porting gaskets?
we have a place here who do it also, but they not cheap, and I am!
The guy who port matched my intake runners also matched the gasket. But he didn't do the god damn zhorst ports on the gasket.
I have used wad punches in the past, but the metal part is hard to cut.

Re: porting gaskets?
can you not get hold of some sort of metal gasket paper/ tin and just cut it as you need?

I have a brand spankers gasket. I just need to make the holes the right size and shape.

That sounds like a goer aye. I just dont have a steady hand for that kind of shit. Plus it's a c-unt to take it apart if it blows again.
