I was well into the BMW scene right up until I sold my E30, I drive a Toyota as a daily

But i wouldn't say no to any car that i actually really like regardless of brand.

Datsuns are cool and I love mine, but i also Miss my E30 BMW so very very much.

Its about the actual car to me not so much the brand but i do lean well towards Nissan/Datsun than anything else.

I don't think it is disloyal!
It saddens me what Nissan have become, sure they make some fantastic cars,but.... I have been a fan from back in the day, back when their sports cars were COOL and their family cars were just as COOL, and just as much fun!!! My daily will soon be a 1200 again, (Rod Bolts are in the country), can't wait. We did have an R31 Wgn as a daily that was great, but when we went to replace it with a people mover what did Nissan have to offer? A Prairie (or "Joy Limited", as the badge read on one I followed the other day), I couldn't bring myself to make the wife drive it. I'm sure they are a great vehicle, but not my style, (I'm not on a high wage, but even so).
So I find myself in a Honda, I'm still Loyal, we have our share of Datsuns, but the one you see us in the most has the name "Stream" on the back, (Not much better than "Prairie") but at least the Wife's 'Joy' isn't limited, and thus mine either!)
Datsun Paved the way and this is one reason we love 'em, But when they dropped the ball Toyota carried it on, probably no higher than Datsun/Nissan had but certainly further. When I was a lad the Datsun product had a well deserved reputation as the top Japan had to offer, just read the old Magazine write-ups. Hard to find a word on modern Nissan family cars anywhere today and they certainly don't lead the Japanese, (let alone Asian), attack any more.

The world is a different place today and as Clarkson has points out "the rest of the manufacturers have caught up". (with Datsun, (a 120y would you believe))

WTF? What about an avenir, or a primer station wagon, or stagea? Or a safari etc.

Yeah, girlfriend had a prarie. Handy for carrying people, but a pretty average to poor car other than that.
