Thanks. I've been watching your build too. Nice to see so many other guys who do their own custom work and think outside the box, rather than bolt on aftermarket bits!
There was actually a lot more work and calculations than most people would expect to get the diff mounted in there. There is very limited space, and I see why the wagons have leafsprings as standard!!!
It would've been so much easier to cut out the factory brace that the shocks mount to, and put in a new one higher up and mounted to the cage, which also would've allowed me to mount the struts more upright.
The downside would be having to raise a section of the wagon floor, and the fact the factory fueltank (which I'm keeping) also mounts to that brace.
Here it is on it's suspension. There's actually enough travel for it to go about an inch and a half lower than this.

Re: fast4motion's other B310 Wagon (lots of pics, sorry)
I'm only a learner when it comes to the Hacksaw and the MIG But I am a CAD designer and i have done some comlex designs for my JOB so I can appreciate 10 or 15 hours into one seemingly small and simple looking part.
The Answer to your Question is NEEDS MORE VG30

Re: fast4motion's other B310 Wagon
Nah, I sold my other one though.
Been pretty busy with other things, so not much progress to show.
I have finished the rear end though. Watts linkage was really easy. I don't know why people think they're too complicated to install and opt for a panhard rod.
I also decided to ditch the factory rear crossmember/brace, in order to gain some space for the suspension. Just got a few more things to weld, then I can paint/underseal it.
Pic doesn't show it very well, but the centre plates are 8mm stainless, and look way better in person. Also, the car is sitting lower than usual ride height in this pic, which is why neither the watts linkage or 4-link bars are parallel.
I also pulled apart some of my Simmons to make up a set for this.
