Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - new bullet mirrors!

Post by Kitch »

After much searching I have found me some JDM style bullet mirrors for my coupe.

Not exactly the GX type ones I dreamt of, but hopefully will look OK.

They are Japanese made Murakami's that I came across second hand in the Phillipines and should be here later next week.

These are 30° leg type, and should look OK. - I hope.....

(Bede, I have another set coming too which have 45° legs on them, and coloured black with chrome.)

Picture below of the actual units, and what they look like on some JDM tin

since I can't do much on the body as its at the panel beaters, i thought I better sort out the custom motor stuff in anticipation of its return..
So I mocked up my inlet manifold last night, to check out clearance from the flows etc.
I have used some PVC pipe for the inlet tubes.
They are sagging about 5° below how I want it under their own weight (I am having a 15° inlet track)
But thankfully as I had hoped, I can spin the throttle bodies 180° and run the throttle cable from the front of the motor (hiding all the linkages and fixings below - giving a much cleaner appearance) also gives me better clearance to the firewall as the TPS was only about 10mm off it during previous test fit.
Next step is to get my alloy inlet tubes spun up, and then tack all the manifold up, and machine holes for the injector pockets.

PS - anyone in Datto capital do alloy tig welding to the level of finish I require for a project such as this????

After I sort out the induction, I will be then getting on with ECU wiring, and fuel system....
