while im on the topic of rotary rotary Datsuns The S11 silvia was meant to come with a Rotary engine as well but once again this could have been a prototype rather than an actual released model,

150 160Jsss Coupes seems awfully low i would have expected more seeing as theres still quite a few around i reckon i have seen at least (with my own eyes not on forums etc) 10-12 different examples in different states

Another extra rare car while on the 710 subject is the 4 door 160JSSS sedan, I think i know of 2-3 examples in NZ none in road going condition and ive only seen photos. Man id love one of thoes for my collection so so bad i really wish when my 140J was on the rotisserie i had put the IRS rear end in seeing as i had all the parts to do it. Just not the money to get it done at the time.

Actually ALL c10 skylines were badges as nissans. In Japan they changed to Nissan badging around the start of the 60s or so

The C10,C110 skylines were still Datsun
The c10 was always badged as Nissan (actually the c10 was in progress at prince before they merged with Nissan so at least at one stag would have been pictured with a prince badge lol), the c110 depended on market. In Japan they were badged as a Nissan Skyline, in export markets as Datsun 240K.

Also what do you mean when referring to "the takeover period"?

You mean when Nissan decided it was only going to market one brand since the Datsun brand was a success overseas and no longer at risk of tarnishing it's Nissan name if shit didnt go so well?

Or are you referring to some corporate takeover which I don't know about?

At the end of the day, the same company that made the 510 made the Nissan Primera and the 910 Bluebird. Just a different brand name on the back.

First used in the 30's I think.

I know they produced the "Nissan Model 70" in the 30's.

Unless you are referring to the skylines only then correct, As Prince and Nissan merged in 1966, c10 was already in dev at prince before the merger.

So maybe they will complete the Job now, with the announcement that Nissan will release an emerging markets range under the Datsun name. So what does an emerging market less styled Liberty and Tiidious look like?

They may not be all that rare, but that wasn't your point or your intent. You said its a borderline Datsun.

The real question is then, what really defines a Datsun? Only cars that carried the Datsun name tag on it (in which case a C10 can not be classed a Datsun)?
A certain period? Is this a Datsun?

Anyhow. I think the S10 is prob the rarest I can think of. never seen one in person in NZ, and never seen another picture of one being in NZ.

Hey fellas
What about that gold bluebird 2000GT that was on trademe years ago (pretty much a 180B with that funny front). I know the owner and has been confirmed to be the only one in nz as per LTSA. Other than that I have no business here.

Pretty sure the sharknose 610s were covered on the first/second page.

I'd be keen as for a 2000gt coupe, not quite so keen on the sedans. I remember that gold one being on TradeMe for a loooooooooooooooooong time. Looked to be in good condition though.

EDIT: So just to confirm, it is the only 2000GT in the country? (sedan or coupe)
