Club sprint. My flat-mate was car crazy, just wanted to be involved. He worked as a forecourt attendant, so got the job of cleaning the windows and checking the oil. I didn't even know he had checked it between runs, but when I went to start it it wouldn't turn over. Jumper leads just produced smoke, so suspected the starter. On push starting it the back wheels turned in opposite directions when I dropped the clutch. She was locked solid. Motor out, then mains off to get the dip stick out. I cut the stick off it after that and just used it to plug the hole.
My flat-mates next outing was as co-driver, when he lasted 1.5 special stages, and the first one was about a km and half long!
