Wiring Ca18det into B310 sunny

Post by CASunny »

So have got to the part i have been dreading for awhile...

Im starting with relays for the fuel pumps.
Running a external Walbro 500hp pump and a Carter lift pump to fill the surge tank.
I can run both off 1 relay?
I have a 5pin relay( 30,85,86, and two 87s)
Is the 30pin fused from the battery with a 20a fuse using 10g wire,
85 pin is earthed with a lesser gauge wire,
86 pin is fed from the the output of the ecu that usually feeds STD relay? (number 18 on the ecu harness,
87 pins both feed pumps positive with 10g?

Am i missing anything?

I know i also need a relay and fuse for the ecu?

Please help me!!!
Cheers guys

Hey

You could get away with just one relay, but if it was me I'd use a relay for each pump.
With the actual wiring of the relay:
Are you using a standard computer?
If so the ecu pin for the fuel pump is active low, meaning it switches that pin to ground to turn the relay on.
So you need to change your '85 pin to a ignition source ( 12v when the key is on etc)

Hope thats helps,

I live in Wellington, if you get stuck more than happy to come give you a hand.
cheers
