Re: Price of importing wheels
make sure you buy wheels without tyres!
Brendan bought a couple sets from Japan, and one set cost HEAPS more in freight due to the wieght of the tyres/air in them.
Think its around $400 for a set of mags shipped from Tokyo to Christchurch, delivered to your door. takes around 1-2weeks

Not always true, if you just get them shipped seperatly this is the case, but if you talk to the right people you can often get onto a van or car coming over that you can get your wheels shipped inside. I know of a few sets that came over recently and it was ~100 per set for shipping. even the ones with tyres.datsunboy wrote:make sure you buy wheels without tyres!

Re: Price of importing wheels
When filled with drugs, im pretty sure the tire freight would be insignificant.
Just a thought.

yeah, that depends on if you know someone that can buy stuff in Japan for you, and also if they can organise freight for you.CSP wrote:Not always true, if you just get them shipped seperatly this is the case, but if you talk to the right people you can often get onto a van or car coming over that you can get your wheels shipped inside. If you get them shipped without the help of a mate who also happens to be shipping something over.....then the price is around what I said
