Re: Datsun 260c
New motor for the Datto."RB30DET" Once tuned will spit out 600Hp+ at the flywheel.I think the lazy diff will have no worries about getting that power to the road

Re: Datsun 260c
Nice.
You going to swap the sump around? you will need a rear sump if you want to drop straight in. You cant buy them any more so will have to chop and weld.
also, from memory you will need a different starter to clear the steering box. My brother in law found one in the back of a van at pick a part. dont know what it is from, but he cut one of the mounting tabs off and the other one holds it sweet as with the solenoid on top instead of out to the side

Re: Datsun 260c
Got a couple things coming from Japan.A original FM/Am radio with an auto tune (will need to use a band expander) and a manual centre console, Which must be a rare thing to get, But it will complete my manual conversion as the auto console's sit to forward.

Re: Datsun 260c
Radio is rad!
Interesting re the console though, mine was bang on top of the manual shifter hole (the manual shifter hole has the auto one spot welded on over the top). There are different shifters however a Z shifter won't work, I'm using a 180B shifter on mine.

Re: Datsun 260c
L28 Build.
Some of you guys know that I was going to build a 3.1 stroker, After having a look on getting an LD28 crankshaft and L24 conrods, Its really not worth it.The cost alone killed it for me,It was almost cheaper to buy new stuff. Maybe if I had a 240Z then yes....But I don't... "Yet". With a standard L28 crankshaft,L20A conrods and the flattop HKS 89mm pistons should see 2.9 litres. With that said the head will get ported and polished, A reground cam to suit carbs and a higher compression thanks to the pistons.Maybe I'll redo the bottom end as well. But that will be it.A nice cheap build really and hopefully having a good motor that likes to rev freely.I will keep the 40mm Webbers and the headers I have as there is no point upgrading for a mere 100cc.
