To fit a radiator and fan, I needed to do something about the lack of clearance. Soooo, I took the crank pulley off and had it cut down. I have to mount the alternator back about 10 mm to line up with the one remaining pulley, but shouldn't be too difficult.
As you can see, I also removed the water pump, made up a template and had a blanking plate laser cut.
Soooo, I will fit them in the weekend and take some pics .You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Annnd dummy fitted. I now have abut 5mm clearance. yuss!
Now to wait until mid year until I can buy an electric water pump. I also have to move the alternator brackets back about 10mm to align its pulley wight he crank pulley.You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

So a little progress on my 510.
Fan mounting kit arrived and is now fitted (until I remove it to have the alternator mounts moved back to work with my cut back harmonic balancer). Installed brand new rear shocks.
Davies Craig electric water pump and controller arrived: Meanwhile, I also have acquired 280z struts via Bert and Dylan.
Bought some coil over sleeve kits from Speed Factor in Tauranga. Had them and the camber top plates I got off Brendon fitted by Howet Engineering. Wheel bearings from Brock.
All assembled, just waiting on new brake pads from Brock and then they will be fitted: Turns out they have a decent Bilstein aftermarket shock in them too: My steering box bracket arrived today via Brendon too: So now I am waiting on my sway bar kit from Mad Dat. The one I got from a member on here was not what they told me it was.
So, I have to get a full exhaust system, plumb in some intake piping and radiator piping, move the alternator back and then wire the whole car up.
Then there are all the bits like oils, grease, adjusting and setup.
Finally there will be cert.

Regarding those coilovers, they're circlipped right?
Strut tubes aren't made of super heavy walled steel, wouldn't the strut tube be almost paper-thin where the groove was cut (I'm assuming the grooves were cut on a lathe), or am I missing something here?

What do I do? Go back and say "All the peoples on the internet said this is shit, it has to be welded"?
You guys are now all putting doubt in my mind. Seriously, I don't know if I should go back to the certifier and say "Are you sure this is safe?" and push it from there. I do know through word of mouth that Howat engineering has a really good rep for this sort of stuff and the certifier Is fairly grumpy and strict.

Go with the engineers advice ging.
There is enough tube thickness to tap a thread.
We have done both of ours this way and no certifier has looked sideways at them, in fact orange car being certed as we speak (type).
Great to see something happening at last..go for it.
