Re: r180 27 spline side shafts/ stub axles
does anyone know if a 27 spline side shaft from a r180 diff out of a s13 will work??? have spent plenty of time researching it at work but cant find a definitive answer........
my 910 has 3x2 axles so I don't really want to change them etc

It should?? The R200 inputs from shortnoses fit the longnose housings so I would assume the R180's would. Either way you're going to have to get the axle shortened and resplined if you want them to be like the ones in the back of my car. But if you have that lsd center you were telling me about factory axles may work???

Jessie was the R180 a datto one or a subaru one ?
I'm doing one for DJ but haven't counted the splines yet.

my research tells me there is 2 Subaru options on a r180 which are 25 or 27 teeth but I could be wrong as the google can be wrong

Cheers Jesse
That makes reasonable sense there is 2 sizes of spline.
I'm thinking that the Mechanical Subaru diffs like from an STI would be the 27 spline and perhaps the others are the standard 25 spline ?
Or maybe the R160 Diffs are 25 spline and R180's are 27

Re: r180 27 spline side shafts/ stub axles
I have read so much different stuff and so much the contradicts itself that I don't want to confuse any more people etc from what I can gather Subaru had 2 r180 options they are 25 (early) and 27 (late) but unsure of the date of crossover think its early 00's
Nissan r180 seems to be 27 or 29 (could be wrong there) i read some stuff that said NO Nissan had a r180 with 27 teeth but then i would read that they all had 27 teeth
r160 I think may only be 25 but again I could be wrong as i ready so much bullshit but no one could really pin point this is this and that is that so i cant confirm or deny my information
i only really read up on the Subaru r180 stuff and not much into the Nissan or r160 stuff.
is this for daniels white 280?
i have brought a complete Subaru r180 open head, a complete Nissan 180 head and a r180 suretrac lsd so should be able to work something out with the 3 lol

Re: r180 27 spline side shafts/ stub axles
They can be a but awkward to take apart.
I will take some photo's to show you a trick to get the center out of the housing. It confused the crap out of me the first time i took one apart. You sort of have to hold it just the right way and rotate it gets stuck. The manuals don't show it very well.
