Because I bought another set of R31 brakes from Rob in Taupo and they already had cables...
But Ill run the new ones anyway.

So much money spent and progress gained.
Car took a trip on its new Datsun transporter to Kaizen works (ex engineers Fromm SpeedTech) to get some engineering work done.

Their jobs were to

1. Fit a new alternator and make custom brackets to shift alternator to the single crank pully. It was cut down to give me space.

2. Modify radiator to fit FJ (swap locations of full and train pipes) and mount Craig Davies electric water pump.

3. Fit an intercooler behind the grill and re-use existing smaller holes to fit it.

4. Sort the fuel filler at the back of the car

5. Add oil lines to my new turbo.

So new items were:
Turbo
Top mount manifold
45mm external wastegate
New alternator
Intercooler and piping
Dual fuel pumps

So far the alternator, radiator and electric water pump are sorted.
Intercooler piping is being done at the moment followed by the fuel setup.

As is usual, everything is being a bigger job than I expected and costing more.

Yeah, the workmanship is pretty spot on.

On another note, my new 45mm Turbosmart waste gate arrived today and the Tial Q Blow Off Valve has been ordered. Hopefully tomorrow or Thursday I will have new photos of the intercooler setup.

I guess I didn't reply post the update where I had the rear subframe exhaust hole enlarged.
New studs, wheel bearings and dust covers fitted. I put it back in how it was, but it needs to come back out and be stripped and painted, There is that under seal all over it.

Nice job they did on that. That turbo isn't exactly small either. Are you going to keep the FJ dizzy or swap to a crank trigger?

At this stage keeping the dizzy because I know no better.

Here is another update:
The guys at Kaizen Works did a great job custom building me a nice intercooler setup.

Essentially, custom mounted a smaller intercooler behind the grill widening slightly the existing holes for the pipe work. Valance needed slight modification and the inlet manifold was modified to straighten the throttle body to make the piping tidy. A trial Q BOV was fitted. I think they have done a good job.
Next on the list of tasks will be:
1. Turbo oil and water lines.
2. Billet fuel rail
3. Tidy up the engine bay because it is a mess and pretty up the engine.
4. Finish the tidying up of the engine bay loom and install
5. Get brakes finished.
6. Get fuel tank and pumps sorted.

Still a million other tasks to do before the car is on the road but at least we have progress.

Fanstastic progress Ging and good to see frequent updates.

On a side note. What leads are you running on the FJ? I ended up running ones from aussie that cost a tonne and yours are a lot longer.
