Took car to Wellington HardPark and made it into NZPC and other websites.
Getting there.
Hopefully the lights are finished this week (front and rear looms) and Ill mount the new horn and wire it in.
Been working on replacing all the wiring in the car with help from a friend of a friend. He is a sparky and doing all the nice wiring. The ugly stuff is mine hahaGetting there.

Is that an electric bonnet popper? Does it smoke up those tyres pretty well?

Yeah, I have poppers on all four doors, boot and bonnet.DJZ wrote:Is that an electric bonnet popper? Does it smoke up those tyres pretty well?
Haven’t put the foot down, driven the car only once.
Once this wiring is sorted though...

Re: gingofthesouth's Orangatang 510
Don't really have one. Too many things to do before I push the wick more than 1 bar.
Need to upgrade the diff and UJ rear, the gearbox will need upgrading to an RB25DET box, a better cooler and uprated valve springs to stop valve bounce.
Has everything else there ready to make plenty more though.
I am down to CHCH to pick up another car that will take my money and time fore the next 6 months so the 510 will be put on hold.

Re: gingofthesouth's Orangatang 510
So I started back on the 510 and spent many hours sorting out wiring issues (that weren't caused by me), pestering people like Chris Gormanly and doing my best to get the car ready for that WoF date.
I took it for only its second drive the other day in almost 8 years.....
Didn't let boost come on fully or for long as it was more a shakedown drive up the road and back to see if anything fell off or broke down haha.
Some of the things to do:
* Mount grill.
* Finish grommeting the firewall.
* Attach boot rubber.
* Remove door cards and replace with new bare door cards (the covered ones are causing issues with window wipers and door handles because the foam is too thick).
* Fix carpet in place.
* Add the right rear door window rubber squeegee thing.
* New windscreen (mine is just old and scratched and gross) and wiper blades.
* Clip new rear light wiring out of sight.
* Mount fender mirrors.
* Mount rear vision mirror.
* Mount visors.
* Cut down wheel studs to right length
* Find and mount spring loaded number plate holder.
* Attach window winders and inner door handles on all doors.
* Add bump stops to front shocks even though my shocks have internal bump stops but the certifier can't see them.
Plus many more things I will have missed.
So much to do..... But doing a bit every night and every weekend day for the last couple months is finally paying off.
I'll get some pics of the work I've done this weekend for a pic update.
Here is a vid a mate took before we took it up the road (just for proof it did happen!) I also need to get cold start sorted.
